Eastern Mediterranean restaurant chain Taim will open a new location in Dupont Circle in Washington, DC September 10. Known for its falafel, kebabs,cauliflower shawarma, mezze, and humus with street food inspiration, the fast-casual chain continues to grow, already having four locations in New York City and an existing spot in the Georgetown Business District in Washington. Taim is also expanding its menu with new bowls on rice that is gently-flavored with cumin seeds and hummus.

Third Middle Eastern cafe opens nearly a decade after first

Muncheez, a fast-casual chain of Middle Eastern cafes, will open its third location in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. later in the summer. It already has restaurants in Georgetown and Tenleytown. David Nanmour is the founder, who opened the first Muncheez restaurant in 2010. Muncheez is known for it shawarmas, bowls, and mezze alongside a variety of manakeesh, a Mediterranean-style flatbread—all made from scratch.
