Denizens Brewing Company has partnered with chef Ed Reavis of All Set Restaurant & Bar and Money Muscle BBG for a an exciting new menu. The fruits of the partnership will ripen starting May 9.
Pizzeria Paradiso is welcoming spring with its Earth Day celebration. The April 22 event will put the spotlight on earth-conscious breweries. Each Pizzeria Paradiso pizza shop will feature a different selection of beers from independent breweries that identify as eco-friendly. In addition, a Pizzeria Paradiso Spring Welcome Pizza will roll out.
Set on two levels, the beer hall in Village at Shirlington to become all-day destination
A second location of Astro Beer Hall will open at the Village at Shirlington in late summer 2022. The venue comes from Elliot Spaisman and Jeff Halpern of Astro Doughnuts fame, partnering with Geoff Dawson and Peter Bayne of Tin Shop. A well-known restaurant group, Tin Shop develops bars and restaurants.
Out of Market Beers tap takover also continues
Pizzeria Paradiso continues its Out of Market tap takeovers in October with Fantome Brewery (BE) and The Referend Bier Blendery (NJ) and celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a Pupusa-inspired pizza. With Halloween approaching, the DMV pizzeria will also offer festive, family-friendly activities closer to the holiday.
DC-area residents, visitors to experience beer, wine, premixed cocktails in new way
Self-pour Taphouse Tap99, located just across the main gates of Nationals Park in Navy Yard, has opened. The Washington, DC opening brings to life the concept that owner Jason Cherry, who is a serial entrepreneur and former race car driver, envisioned. Across 2,800 square feet of space, customers will be able to enjoy self-pour tap beer, wine, ciders and premixed cocktails.
Brazil, Illinois, New Jersey brews featured during August
Pizzeria Paradiso is helping customers battle the heat with cold brews and chill events during the month of August. First, its Dupont Circle location will offer a special “Out of Market” beer each Wednesday of the month. Then, Pizzeria Paradiso locations will be featuring a special August Means Tomatoes specialty pizza.
Craft beer event postponed due to Covid-19 concerns in DMV
Washington, D.C. ‘s Hopfest 2020 Brewing event at DC Brau Brewing Company is just around the corner. DC Brau planned to host the popular brewing event March 14 at its brewery on Bladensberg Road, but has now postponed the event and an announcement will be made later this spring. The event is designed to benefit local breweries via the DC Brewers’ Guild. General admission tickets for $50 go on sale February 1. Hopefest 2020 early bird tickets offer a 10 percent discount on the general admission price and are discontinued after January 31.

Mission Group’s third bar concept takes former Irish bar location
The much-awaited The Admiral bar is open now in Dupont Circle at the old site of James Hoban’s Irish Restaurant. Mission Group, which is behind Mexican-style restaurants Mission Navy Yard and Mission Dupont, in addition to Hawthorne, is previewing The Admiral for four days prior to its grand opening celebration December 26. The Admiral is named after Admiral Samuel Francis DuPont, for which Dupont Circle is named. It offers 6,500 square feet of space, with three bars and 18 big screen televisions, including a 220” TV wall.
