La Cosecha is a mix of food hall, cultural center, retail in NoMa

This summer, La Cosecha Latin Market will arrive at Union Market, Washington, D.C. The 20,000 square-foot mix of culinary, retail, entertainment and community gathering space will host various artisans, businesses and entrepreneurs that deliver Latin-inspired flavors, food and drink at the 4th Street Northeast location. Retail developer Edens is launching La Cosecha, which means “harvest” in Spanish, in late June with a bounty of 14 retailers and restaurants in a growing section of the NoMa neighborhood.

After the huge success of D.C.’s Union Market, many other new “food halls” are sprouting up to offer consumers unique tastes and cultivated, culinary experiences in buzzing locations around the area. According to consultancy and research firm Cushman & Wakefield, there will be approximately 300 food hall projects in operation by the end of 2020.
