For Five Coffee Roasters marked the official opening of its third store in Metropolitan Washington. The New York City-based coffee chain unveiled a new location at Alexander Court at 2001 K Street Northwest. The new coffee shop is open for both indoor and outdoor seating as a result of For Five’s partnership with Rockrose Developers.
For Five Coffee arrives in the Washington, D.C. region this fall through a partnership with Carr Properties. For Five Coffee will open In October at King I, which is located at 1800 Diagonal Road in Alexandria, Va. In November, a second D.C.-area location will emerge in Arlington at 2311 Wilson Boulevard. Both properties are part of the Carr Properties portfolio.
Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken has debuted inventive selections for the month of May 2019. Chef Chris Kajula has been busy creating new treats to offer at the Falls Church Astro Doughnuts and the food truck location. These include the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Cannoli, Strawberry Guava, and Root Beer Float.
After the huge success of D.C.’s Union Market, many other new “food halls” are sprouting up to offer consumers unique tastes and cultivated, culinary experiences in buzzing locations around the area. According to consultancy and research firm Cushman & Wakefield, there will be approximately 300 food hall projects in operation by the end of 2020.
As the number of independent coffee shops in the DC area has exploded in recent years, several best practices for serving truly excellent coffee and succeeding as an independent coffeehouse have emerged. The wide variety of new coffee houses in the area includes Compass Coffee and Lil’B Coffee and Eatery, as well as coffee houses from regions outside of the DMV area, like Rwandan brand Bourbon Coffee.
