St. James debuts delish small-plates happy hour

Tasty bites, cocktails, ciders will beckon the after-work crowd

Caribbean restaurant St. James rolled out a weekly happy hour. The restaurant, which opened in May, will offer happy hour Tuesday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Small plates, cocktails and ciders will be aplenty.

The new menu will will include flavorful small plates:

  • Jerk Wings ($15), which are marinated for 12 hours
  • vegan Aloo & Channa Pies, fried bread stuffed with cumin-spiced potatoes and curried channa ($12)
  • Fried Smelts ($10) crispy butterflied smelts served with culantro-chili aioli
  • Accras ($12) salt fish fritters with culantro-chili aioli

Featured drinks include wine, rail spirits and mixers, in addition to beer and cider selections from local producers Anxo and Aslin, priced under $10.

There’s also a seasonal District Punch made with Saint James Rhum Agricole, Cotton & Reed coconut rum, pineapple, spiced mango, and lime. The punch goes for $10.
