Hi-Lawn hosts 2022 Halloween Party 90s-style

Hi-Lawn will host a Halloween party on its expansive rooftop bar at Union Market. The 90s Halloween Party returns for the second year with live music and DJs spinning nostalgic beats. Hi-Lawn also has pumpkin carvings and a Trivia night planned this month.

Halloween party

The Saturday night party October 29 will be a 90’s themed celebration going full blast from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The rooftop will be decorated in retro style and will host the Turtle Recall, a local band. Guests can also expect a DJ pre-party, festive food and drinks and, naturally, a costume contest with prizes.

DJ Steve Lemz will get the party started with retro tunes from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; afterward, Turtle Recall will perform popular 90s throwback hits until 11 p.m.

A Black Magic Pomegranate Margarita will be part of the “spooky food and drink specials available. A Blue Curacao Mermaid Lemonade, and Spiked Hot Cider, in addition to a Devil Dog Kimchi Bratwurst, and specially-priced Jumbo Pretzels, will be part of the collection, also.

Hi-Lawn will also offer its regular food and drink menu that night.

Guests are encouraged to wear costumes. For a $100 Hi-Lawn gift card, costumes can post a photo of their costumes on Instagram and tag @hilawndc to enter.

Pre-register at Eventbrite or pay a $5 cover at the door.

Pumpkin carving (10/23, 10/30), Halloween Night Trivia (10/31)

Also, Hi-Lawn will offer up pumpkins for sale from its pop-up patch. During the last two Sundays in October, 10/23 and 10/30, Hi-Lawn invites families and adults alike to free pumpkin carving parties on the rooftops. Those in attendance can borrow carving supplies to create the jack-o-lanterns. This will take place of their dreams (or nightmares) from noon to 8 p.m. each day. To keep hydrated, costumes can purchase non-alcoholic, as well as spiked hot cider available throughout the day.

Plus, on Halloween Night, which falls on Monday, October 31, Hi-Lawn will host a spooky trivia night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will feature creepy categories and terrifying topics, the bar said. Participants can win prizes. The venue encourages costumes and notes trivia is free to play.
