Owner Jenn Crovato to raise funds for small business through soul-warming event in DC
1310 Kitchen and Bar and its owner, Jenn Crovato, will host the 2022 Chicken Pot Pie-athon in October and November. The third annual event raises funds for the benefit of small business advocacy and economic prosperity. Crovato joined the Board of Directors of Georgetown Main Street, a local non-profit.
In 2022, the Chicken Pot Pie-athon will take pre-orders from October 14 to November 2. A total of 35% of the proceeds will support GMS.
Jenn’s Homemade, a signature line of fresh-freezer-to-oven entrees and ready-to-eat meals launched in 2020 right before pandemic protocols as a result of the demand for 1310’s fresh-food cooking. According to an announcement from Crovato, “Each dish is hyper-focused on natural ingredients and comforting classics from varied cultures.” Included in the line, the savory 23-ounce Chicken Pot Pie, for $22, is heartful and soul-warming, prepared with Roasted Chicken, Peas, Carrots, Shiitake Mushrooms, Celery, Spinach, and a Butter Crust.
The pie, which serves one or two people, delivers the best results heated simply at 350F degrees. It can be stored for up to a few months in the freezer.
Last year, Crovato prepared over 500 Chicken Pot Pies from scratch for the event and benefit of the small business community in DC’s revitalized Georgetown area. The small business owner expects to exceed that number this year in her 2022 Chicken Pot Pie-athon.
