Set on two levels, the beer hall in Village at Shirlington to become all-day destination
A second location of Astro Beer Hall will open at the Village at Shirlington in late summer 2022. The venue comes from Elliot Spaisman and Jeff Halpern of Astro Doughnuts fame, partnering with Geoff Dawson and Peter Bayne of Tin Shop. A well-known restaurant group, Tin Shop develops bars and restaurants.
The 4001 Campbell Avenue location in Arlington, Va. is set on two different levels. The owner expects to serve coffee and doughnuts for the morning daypart, with lunch and dinner, accompanied by beer, as the day progresses. Astro Beer Hall Shirlington will offer a full-service coffee program, utilizing La Colombe beans. Guests can enjoy coffee with Astro’s doughnuts and breakfast sandwiches.
The business will take over the former Capitol City Brewing space. An expansive 80-seat patio will help provide a good amount of visibility and outdoor space for gatherings.
Three roll-up garage doors will headline the Northern Virginia beer hall and be set alongside the patio area. The 14,000 square-foot space will seem like a fully-integrated indoor-outdoor venue when the weather turns nice.
The bar holds 20 tap lines, and they’ll be put to good use. During the week, Astro Beer Hall Shirlington will also host good old-fashioned gaming. There are two game rooms with pool tables, and arcade games, such as Asteroids, Ms. Pacman, and pinball. Large screen televisions installed throughout the space will feature sports and special show-programming.
And there will be no shortage of local draft beers, cocktails and frozen drinks. On the menu, guests can find the beer hall’s good eats, including fried chicken, sandwiches, salads, made-to-order cake doughnuts, and bar snacks. Expect to hear more news on the opening in the coming months. And details, like Astro Beer Hall’s weekend brunch offerings, will soon be revealed.
