Archer Hotel Tysons opens in Scotts Run South, McLean

New location is franchise’s 7th

The Archer Hotel Tysons has opened its doors. The 178-room modern and stylish hospitality property in the Scotts Run development in McLean, Va. is a highly-anticipated opening in the south zone of the mixed-use, real estate project. Adjacent to the WMATA McLean Metro Rail Station, Archer Hotel Tysons is also located just across from the Capital One Hall Performing Arts Center and Scotts Run North, part of this massive 6.5M square-foot development that is being built concurrently with the south portion, just off Dolley Madison Blvd.

We wrote about this property and development previously, and this new update comes as the hotel opened September 14. The rooms will have a variety of urban-chic design palettes, including exposed brick-tone walls, premium bedding and “seriously comfy pillows.”

Guests are treated to stylish bathrooms stocked with Malin+Goetz gentle bath amenities, a Nespresso coffee maker, books that have a local connection, as well as a daily turndown. A welcome basket includes Proud Source Water and locally-made salted caramels from La Vache Microcreamery.

There’s new information on AKB, the Archer Hotel Tyson’s restaurant and bar. The artful space provides a place for visitors and locals to gather. The beverage menu includes classic cocktails, vintage spirits, a curated, yet approachable wine list, and local beers. AKB features a grand central bar, but has separate “cozy nooks,” as well. Shuffleboard is one of the bar’s entertainment options. And guests can head to Archer’s patio for alfresco dining.

The menu offers plates that can be shared, with plenty of seafood, rotisserie and inventive, wood-fired pizzas. Plates include the ahi poke bowl, with ahi poke, pickled asian slaw, quinoa, wonton straws, organic field greens, scallions, ginger-peanut vinaigrette. There’s an AKB burger, featuring house-blended ground chuck, bacon, pimento cheese, brioche, and hand-cut seasoned fries.

Two wood-fired pizzas that are sure to be popular are the White Primavera and Bull’s SBK Black + Bleu. The White Primavera pizza features in-season roasted vegetables, mozzarella, ricotta, elephant garlic, and bechamel sauce. The Bull’s is topped with black truffle, bleu cheese, pork belly, medjool dates, and red onion, a borrowed recipe from the Archer Hotel Austin.

The Archer Hotel Tysons is the chain’s 7th property to open.
