New dishes focus on seafood, plant-based offerings
La Famosa Puerto Rican restaurant in Navy Yard has added new dishes as it readies for spring business. These dishes usher in the season with added flavors and enhanced culinary creativity.
The Criollo Cod features a Criollo-style pan seared cod topped with a tropical pineapple-mango salsa, arugula, avocado and crema verde, served on toasted multigrain bread, for $13. An El Pollito starts with an Adobo marinated chicken breast topped with swiss cheese, aji amarillo, avocado, and mixed greens. Then, it’s finished off with a lemon vinaigrette and served on toasted multigrain bread, priced at $11.
An Ensalada Tamarindo features a Tamarind glazed shrimp served over a salad of mixed greens, watermelon radish, campari tomatoes, and topped with a pineapple-mango salsa, tamarind vinaigrette, and crispy onions, priced at $17. The Boricua Bowl amps up healthy-eating freshness. A Passionfruit and coconut smoothie-based bowl is topped with sliced bananas, mango, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, granola, grated coconut, and a drizzle of honey. Priced at $12, the new addition is expected to be popular, but customers should not it’s only available for breakfast and lunch.
