Mardi Gras take-home kit provides way for party goers to express themselves carnival-style
Bayou Bakery’s Chef David Guas has typically co-organized a big celebration, called the Mardi Gras Extravaganza. This year, he’s bringing the Mardi Gras home to Metro-Washington area homes or across the country. Guas will offer a Mardi Gras in a Box, for $135, in a package with all the essentials for Fat Tuesday celebrations.
The kit has the following:
- Danish-style, Bayou Bakery King Cake with a DIY decorating kit to keep it fresh, one cake=16 servings
- a Mardi Gras Murder Mystery Dinner Party Game for eight players
- 24 tri-colored Mardi Gras Beads and Doubloons
- eight Mardi Gras Masks
- one Mardi Gras Boa
- Pat O’Brien’s Liquid Hurricane Mix, a non-alcoholic mix. Imbibers can add their spirit of choice to serve up at-home cocktails
The Bayou Bakery King Cake, which come with a Creole cream cheese filling, features a decorating kit of white icing so customers make it their own. In addition, sugars in purple, green and gold offer an opportunity to deck it out in the traditional Carnival colors. The King Cake has been featured on “The Today Show,” and in The New York Times, and The Washington Post, which named it “One of the Top 5 King Cakes in the Country.”
