Tasting event provides venue for rare whiskey sampling
Jack Rose Dining Saloon in Washington, D.C. is gearing up for its third annual Premier Drams Whiskey Festival. The celebration April 5 offers a unique opportunity to taste cask-strength whiskeys that are new and rare. Expect to see 15+ stations of unique bourbons, scotches and international whiskeys. Additionally, the restaurant announced new bottle unveilings, blind tastings, craft cocktails and distiller meet-and-greet opportunities are on tap for the evening, which lasts from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The expansive Jack Rose will use all three floors of the bar to host the Premier Drams Whiskey Festival. Distillers like Kentucky’s Willett, Wilderness Trail and Bardstown Barrel Company plan to bring special barrel picks. For the scotch aficionado, Compass Box, Glenfiddich will offer rare releases and Blackadder will have.cask-strength single malts for sampling.
An international station will offer global expressions hailing from Japan and India. “The quality of the whiskey these distilleries and brands bring is incredible, and this year’s Premier Drams will continue to ‘wow’,” says owner Bill Thomas. Jack Rose will prepare special hors d’oeuvres and craft cocktails.
Added Thomas, “Of course, our festival is different from anything else. We’re shining the light on hidden gems — rarities you can’t try anywhere else, cask-strength expressions straight from barrel to bottle, limited-edition releases, brand-new products on the market, never-released barrel samples, you name it.”
