Gravitas launches a-la-carte menu in lounge, bars

With casual setting, Ivy City restaurant casts a wider net

Gravitas launched a new a-la-carte dining menu at its bar and lounge areas. Entering through the industrial-chic vestibule is key, the restaurant announced. Casual, but beautifully-composed dishes await diners in this more informal setting. Appetizers like Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi and entrées like Black Truffle Risotto will find certain popularity in short order.

For starters—literally—there’s Seared Scallop and Pork Belly for $21, accompanied by celery root puree, shaved celery root salad and black truffle jus. Radicchio and Frisee Salad for $18 has a healthy slant, with herb croutons, olives, winter citrus, radish and a champagne vinaigrette. Sure to be a top-requested item, Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi is prepared with soy vinaigrette, black vinegar aioli and furikake.

The entrees are approachable. Roasted Lamb Loin features lamb with spice-roasted Kabocha squash, chickpea puree and tuile with blood orange jus. A heart Braised Beet is accompanied by cauliflower puree, horseradish and beet demi-glace. A decadent Black Truffle Risotto also appears on the menu. It’s prepared with parmesan cheese, crème fraiche and chives,
