Brunch at the Darcy Hotel just became uber-global
Gerrard Street Kitchen begins its brunch service Saturday, November 30. The restaurant, which recently opened at the Darcy Hotel in Washington, D.C., will offer a medley of flavors imported from Japan, India, South Asian and more. The creativity of the dishes is underpinned by British-Indian influence, a well. Chef Jaime Velasquez offers creative dishes like Masala Scrambled, Crème Brûlée Stuffed Brioche French Toast, Short Rib Hash Skillet, and Bibimbap Vegetables.
There’s also a bottomless Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar. In addition, guests can choose from a selection of smoothies and cold press juices. Gerrard Street Kitchen offers brunch from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Saturdays and Sundays.
An essential member of the culinary team at the Darcy Hotel, Velasquez opened Gerrard Street Kitchen. He worked the Metro-Washington culinary scene for more than 35 years. He was classically trained in French cuisine, in great part due to an apprenticeship under well-known Chef Alain Ducasse, working in Paris. Velasquez’s return to the United States also brought a new tutelage of the venerable Michel Richard. He continued to perfect his craft as executive chef at Citronelle in Georgetown.
