Benefit for women in leadership held on International Women’s Day
Pizzeria Paradiso is launching a fundraiser to benefit efforts to encourage women to serve in leadership positions as elected officials. This announced celebration is in tribute to International Women’s Day 2019. A 100-percent contribution of its United States of Pizza menu sales will go toward the She Should Run organization on Friday, March 8. On this day, the Pizzeria Paradiso US of Pizza special is a creative pie, consisting of Virginia Country Ham, cheddar cheese, cherry tomatoes, creamed corn, black eyed peas, collard greens and onions.

Pizzeria Paradiso honors women in leadership, elected office
She Should Run is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that encourages women from all walks of lie to run for office. It also promotes women leadership paths. The US of Pizza menu has been a featured item at Pizzeria Paradiso since late January, and is a way for Ruth Gresser to pay tribute to women in elected-official positions.
Said the announcement, “Women make up 50.8 percent of the U.S. population and 25 percent of our nation’s leadership, a recent surge thanks to the 2018 elections which saw a record number of women running for and elected to office. As a woman-owned business, Pizzeria Paradiso wants to highlight these women and their states with pizzas themed after popular food traditions from their respective home state.”
Pizzeria Paradiso operates five locations in the Washington, D.C. region, including Dupont Circle, Georgetown, Spring Valley, Old Town Alexandria, Va. and Hyattsville, Md..
